Why Folio exists

Hello! I’m Chuck. I’ve played Pathfinder for years, and one of the parts I love most is the very beginning, when a character is still just a feeling and a few words, before they’re anyone yet.

That’s also where I get stuck. I’ll have a sense of who I want to play, a tone, a scrap of backstory, a class I’ve been curious about, and then stall turning it into someone real enough to bring to the table.

So I built Folio for exactly that. Pick a campaign, then describe the character you already have in mind, or just roll to be surprised, and you get a complete player-character grounded in that Adventure Path. Not a stat block, but a person with a voice and a reason to be there. Keep them, reroll them, or use them as the spark for someone you make entirely your own.

The characters and portraits are AI-generated, shaped by prompts I’ve tuned for Pathfinder, and I want to be upfront about that. Folio isn’t here to replace the part of the hobby where you make something yours. It’s here to get you there faster, with something worth refining in hand. The best characters it makes are the ones you take somewhere I didn’t.

It’s a small project, made with care, leaning on a system I love. If you make something you’re proud of, or something feels off, I’d like to hear about it.
